ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated School-Based Occupational Therapist for a full-time contract position in Richmond, Virginia, for the 2026-2027 school year. This opportunity offers an OT the chance to support students across K-12 grade levels, with the potential for a primarily elementary-focused caseload. The selected clinician will collaborate with educators, families, and other related service providers to help students develop the skills needed for academic participation and independence. Caseload details are currently being finalized based on district needs, and qualified candidates are encouraged to apply today!

Responsibilities:

  • Provide occupational therapy evaluations, assessments, and direct therapy services for students in grades K-12.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to support students’ functional, academic, and developmental goals.
  • Address areas including fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-regulation, visual-motor integration, and activities of daily living.
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, administrators, and families to support student success.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student goal development.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, progress notes, and service records.
  • Provide occupational therapy services across multiple school sites as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Active Virginia Occupational Therapist license required.
  • Appropriate school-based credentials required, if applicable.
  • Master’s degree or entry-level Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification required.
  • Licensing assistance available for qualified candidates.

Experience:

  • Previous experience working in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred.
  • Experience supporting students across elementary, middle, and high school populations beneficial.
  • Familiarity with IEP processes, evaluations, and educational collaboration preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent organization and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to adapt therapy strategies to meet diverse student needs.
  • Strong understanding of occupational therapy practices within an educational environment.

Industry: Education

Education:

  • Master’s degree or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • NBCOT certification required.

Work Hours:
Full-time schedule based on school district hours for the 2026-2027 school year.

Caseload:
K-12 students, potentially focused primarily on elementary-aged students. Final caseload details are currently being determined.
