Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Director of Pharmacy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Lead pharmacy services at a specialized critical illness recovery hospital as the Director of Pharmacy in Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania. This pivotal working director role requires hands-on leadership within a close-knit pharmacy team supporting a 35-bed facility specializing in complex inpatient care including brain injury, cardiac conditions, infectious disease, pulmonary support, and more.
Responsibilities include managing daily pharmacy operations while providing clinical and administrative oversight. You will directly oversee a team consisting of a full-time pharmacist, full-time technician, and per diem pharmacists. Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams, ensure regulatory compliance and optimize patient medication management. The role involves weekend coverage on a rotating basis, with compensatory weekday time off provided.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Acute care hospital pharmacy experience (required)
- Pharmacy management or director-level experience preferred
- Comfortable with a hands-on, working director approach
- Strong clinical, operational, and administrative capabilities
- Leadership experience managing small pharmacy teams
- Pennsylvania pharmacist license or willingness to obtain
- Experience with Med Host and paper systems advantageous; EPIC implementation forthcoming
- Retail pharmacy background alone is not suitable
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, approximately 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Rotating weekend coverage, approximately 4 hours flex time per shift
