School Occupational Therapist | Schaumburg, Illinois

Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students in an intermediate school environment! A contract position is available for an Occupational Therapist experienced in school-based OT services, specifically for the 2026-2027 academic year. This role focuses on working with third through fifth-grade students, providing essential fine motor and sensory support.

Position Details:

• Serve one dedicated intermediate building supporting students in grades 3-5
• Commit to 2-3 days per week, with flexibility for two full days or additional days at reduced hours
• Hours are from 8:05 am to 2:45 pm, allowing for balanced scheduling
• Position spans the full academic year: September 8, 2026, through June 16, 2027
• Caseload of approximately 25 students, primarily in a consultation model with some direct therapy

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Occupational Therapy licensure
• Previous experience in a school setting, especially grades 3-5, is preferred
• Strong consultative skills and ability to collaborate with classroom teachers and staff
• Expertise in fine motor and sensory interventions for school-aged children
• Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation abilities

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide occupational therapy consultation and direct services as needed
• Support students’ access to curriculum and school activities through individualized interventions
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families to develop strategies for student success
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to IEP development and implementation
• Foster a positive and supportive environment in the intermediate school
