Explore an impactful opportunity supporting students’ growth both as a Special Education Teacher (0.5 FTE, High School) and as a Behavior Intervention Specialist (0.5 FTE, Elementary) for the 2026-2027 academic year. This contract role offers a dynamic mix of morning instruction with high school students and afternoon behavioral support at the elementary level, making each day both meaningful and diverse.
Requirements:
- Minnesota teaching license (Tier 3 or Tier 4 required for contracted Special Education Teachers)
- Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher or Behavior Specialist
- Strong understanding of behavior intervention principles and implementation in school settings
- Ability to collaborate and consult with teachers on development and implementation of behavioral plans
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills with students, colleagues, and families
- Current resume highlighting relevant experience and credentials
Role Highlights:
- Mornings spent with high school students, focusing on individualized instruction and student achievement
- Afternoons serving as a Behavior Intervention Specialist, collaborating with elementary teachers for effective behavior plans and classroom management strategies
- No caseload required for the BIS portion; you’ll act as a mentor and resource to support staff implementation
- 37.5-hour workweek, Monday through Friday (7 a.m. – 3 p.m.), following the school district calendar
