School Occupational Therapist | Peralta, New Mexico

Make an impact in the educational setting by supporting students’ growth and success as an Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) on a contract basis. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with educators and families to help students develop the skills they need to thrive in and out of the classroom.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid licensure or certification as an OT or COTA.
• Experience in a school-based setting is preferred, but passionate new graduates are welcome to apply.
• Familiarity with IEP process and documentation.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Compassion and adaptability when working with students from diverse backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans based on student needs.
• Provide direct occupational therapy services to students, supporting their participation in daily school activities.
• Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and families to support educational goals.
• Document student progress and maintain accurate records in accordance with school and regulatory standards.
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of goals and accommodations.
• Offer consultative support to staff to foster an inclusive and accessible classroom environment.
