Travel Hospital Pharmacist | Las Cruces, New Mexico

A dynamic opportunity is available for a Travel Retail Staff Pharmacist to provide expert pharmacy services in a community grocery store pharmacy setting. This role supports patient care through accurate dispensing, counseling, and team supervision within a well-established retail pharmacy environment.

Location: Alamogordo, New Mexico
Assignment Length: 13 weeks or longer, with shorter contracts considered
Schedule:

• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
• Wednesday, Friday: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
• Closed on weekends and six major holidays at the primary location
• Occasional weekend coverage at secondary location may be required

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately prepare, review, and dispense medication orders following protocols
• Maintain comprehensive and precise patient medication records
• Supervise and guide pharmacy technician staff to ensure smooth workflows
• Participate in medical emergency response efforts as part of the pharmacy team
• Conduct regular inspections of medication storage and identify expired products
• Train and orient new pharmacy team members
• Maintain strict adherence to infection control standards

Qualifications:

• Active New Mexico Pharmacist License or willingness to obtain prior to start
• Minimum of one year registered pharmacist experience preferred
• APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
• Ability and flexibility to cover shifts at the secondary retail location including occasional weekends
• Strong interpersonal skills for patient counseling and team supervision
• Adaptable and comfortable working across multiple locations
