This rewarding contract opportunity spans the academic year from early August to late May, working full-time onsite across multiple school locations. What You'll Contribute:
- Valid Standard Arizona Orientation & Mobility (O&M) Endorsement
- Completion of an accredited O&M program
- Active COMS (Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist) credential
- Current IVP fingerprint clearance card
- Experience working in educational or school-based settings is preferred
- Strong collaborative skills and commitment to inclusive education
- Excellent communication and adaptability for dynamic school environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct orientation and mobility services to students with visual impairments
- Conduct assessments to determine individual student needs and develop appropriate instructional plans
- Teach safe, effective travel skills tailored to each student's abilities
- Work closely with IEP teams, contributing to goal-setting and progress monitoring
- Train staff and families on best practices for supporting student independence
- Travel between school locations as needed within the district
