Classroom Assistant | Cicero, Illinois

Step into a crucial support role in an elementary school setting near Cicero, IL, for the 2026-2027 school year. As a paraprofessional, you will make an immediate impact by assisting teachers and working directly with elementary-aged students, some of whom present challenging behaviors. This full-time contract position offers 35 hours weekly, Monday through Friday, at an elementary school in North Chicago.

Key Qualifications:

• Active Illinois Paraprofessional certification required
• At least 2 years of experience supporting teachers or working with students in a school classroom
• Familiarity with toileting support is strongly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to manage, redirect, and encourage elementary students with varying needs
• Resilient, adaptable, and collaborative approach to working in an educational environment
• Ability to provide names and contact information for at least two professional references (reassurance forms are not accepted)

Core Responsibilities:

• Deliver hands-on classroom and instructional assistance alongside certified teachers
• Support students through one-on-one guidance and interventions, as needed
• Help manage everyday classroom routines and behavioral needs
• Assist students with classroom assignments, group activities, and transitions
• Provide personal care, including toileting support, with sensitivity and professionalism
