Retail Pharmacy Manager - Canton, NY
Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Director of Pharmacy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A leading retail pharmacy seeks a Pharmacy Manager to oversee operations at a busy location. This contract role offers an opportunity to lead a pharmacy team, ensure compliance with regulations, and support patient-focused services.
Location: Ogdensburg, NY
Schedule:
- Monday-Friday: 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Saturday: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Sunday: Closed
Key Responsibilities:
- Register with the state board of pharmacy as supervising pharmacist or pharmacist in charge.
- Maintain pharmacy compliance with federal, state, and board of pharmacy regulations, as well as company policies.
- Oversee the pharmacy department’s operations, including financial management, payroll, scheduling, and inventory control.
- Manage pharmacy support staff, including performance reviews and training.
- Ensure completion of all required company training by pharmacy associates.
- Participate in business development efforts within the store and local community.
- Deliver patient-centered services such as immunizations, medication therapy management (MTM), and wellness programs.
- Counsel patients and healthcare providers on medication use, interactions, and side effects.
- Maintain clean and organized pharmacy workstations and facilities.
- Engage in continuous quality improvement initiatives to uphold patient safety.
- Complete required continuing education for licensure maintenance.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current New York Pharmacist License (required)
- Immunization Certification and ability to administer all vaccines (required)
- Recent Pharmacy Manager experience preferred
- Strong leadership and communication skills
