Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) and/or Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS)
• Previous experience working in a school setting with students who are visually impaired strongly preferred
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with students, families, and educational teams
• Deep understanding of adaptive technologies and curriculum modification
• Ability to provide both direct instruction and consultative services

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver instruction and support tailored to students’ unique visual needs
• Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop IEP goals, and document student progress
• Foster independence and confidence through skill building, orientation, and mobility training
• Advocate for student access to general education curriculum and school activities
• Partner effectively with teachers, counselors, and other specialists
• Support parents and staff with resources, strategies, and training as needed
