Position Overview

  • Employment Type: Full-Time (1.0 FTE)
  • Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, with in-person duties and additional weekend rounding and on-call responsibilities.
  • Work Location: Ann Arbor, Michigan
  • Specialization: Psychiatry
  • Facility Details: The hospital features a 28-bed inpatient psychiatric unit and a Partial Hospitalization Program accommodating 24 chairs.
  • Role Description: This position encompasses both inpatient psychiatry and consult-liaison services, along with the chance to cover the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP).
  • Team Composition: 5 attending physicians and 2 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)
  • Teaching Roles: Opportunities to instruct and mentor medical students and residents in a collaborative academic setting.
  • On-Call Duties: Inpatient call rotation approximately every six days.

Qualifications

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry, with a commitment to achieve certification within 12 months.
  • Active Michigan medical license (or the ability to obtain one)
  • DEA registration
  • BLS certification (must be maintained) / ACLS/BLS certification (must be maintained)

Key Responsibilities

A typical day may involve:

  • Delivering direct patient care
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
  • Engaging in teaching and mentoring activities
  • Documenting patient information in Epic EMR
  • Participating in quality improvement projects
  • Supporting community health initiatives
  • Additional opportunities may include involvement in group education programs and pursuing continuing education for ongoing professional development.
