Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with classroom teachers to manage and support daily instructional activities
• Deliver individualized assistance, including one-on-one guidance, to students with diverse learning needs
• Help students participate in small groups and various learning sessions throughout the school day
• Provide behavioral support and effective redirection in moments of need
• Assist with toileting and self-care tasks as appropriate for select students
• Encourage a positive, inclusive, and caring classroom community

Qualifications:

• Illinois Para certification is required
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a school classroom environment
• Prior experience assisting students with toileting is strongly preferred
• Background in supporting elementary-aged children, especially those with challenging behaviors
• Ability to adapt in a dynamic, energetic classroom
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Must provide at least two professional references (including name, phone, and email)

This full-time position follows the school’s schedule: Monday through Friday, 35 hours weekly, with midday and break times provided. You’ll find this opportunity both meaningful and professionally enriching, as you help students develop academically and personally.
