Instructional Assistant - Levittown, Pennsylvania

Step into a vital support role helping high school students with significant needs achieve their fullest potential. As a contracted paraprofessional, you’ll work in a highly collaborative, structured environment, assisting students with severe behavioral and intensive safety challenges. Your commitment will provide essential hands-on support for students with autism and behavioral needs, making a meaningful difference in their daily educational experience.

Key Qualifications:

• At least one year of paraprofessional experience in a PreK-12 special education classroom, including behavioral support for students with autism
• Residency within a 35-minute commute of the assignment site
• Must meet one of the Pennsylvania paraprofessional qualifications: 48 college credits, an associate degree or higher, or completion of a relevant state/local assessment (or willingness to achieve certification within 60 days of assignment start)
• Ability to attend a full mandatory orientation week and commit to the full schedule (Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–3:00 PM)
• Two paraprofessional supervisor references required
• Comfort with hands-on care responsibilities (feeding, toileting, transfers, etc.)
• Willingness to work in a high-intensity, safety-first setting with students who may demonstrate aggressive or self-injurious behaviors

Responsibilities Include:

• Directly supporting students in classroom routines and implementing behavior management strategies
• Providing assistance with daily living skills, personal care, and adaptive techniques
• Contributing proactively to a positive and structured learning atmosphere
• Responding rapidly and appropriately to safety-related situations
• Collaborating with staff and following all established protocols and individualized intervention plans

Start and end dates are August 19, 2026, to June 12, 2027 (tentative). The first week features a comprehensive orientation (8:30 AM–4:30 PM). All clearances must be finalized before August 13.
