\nThe Registered Nurse (RN) utilizes the nursing process to provide safe, effective, and patient-centered care while maintaining professional accountability for assigned patients. The RN evaluates the effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers and coordinates patient care collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams. This position upholds patient rights, maintains confidentiality, and performs all duties in alignment with Mercy’s mission, values, and Service Standards.
\n\nPosition Details:
\nThe Stroke Program Coordinator provides leadership and oversight for the hospital's stroke program, ensuring optimal patient outcomes through quality improvement, regulatory compliance, interdisciplinary collaboration, staff education, and adherence to evidence-based stroke care standards. The coordinator serves as the primary resource for stroke program operations and certification activities while driving initiatives that improve clinical performance and patient-centered care.
\n\nMinimum Qualification:
\n\nEducation: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
\n\nLicensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
\n\nPhysical requirements/demands:
\n -Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
\n -Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift
\n -Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
Experience: Neurology Experience, Minimum 2 years acute care experience.
\n\nCertification/Registration: BLS
\n\nOther skills & knowledge:
\n-Skills in program management related to data, operations, presentations, and budgeting.
\n-Skills in public relations and development of professional relationships with EMS, Media, Referral hospitals, etc.
\n-Is proficient in the use of State Data Dictionary and the Registry Software.
\n-Computer Skills with basic Microsoft Office programs.

- Strong education background preferred. \n
- Shows evidence of educational preparation of CME's on neurology related programs. \n
