Job Description
Make a meaningful difference in the lives of elementary-aged students as an Affective Needs Teacher in a supportive and welcoming school environment. This contract position is based on-site at an elementary campus in the North Denver area, providing consistent hours and the opportunity to focus on a single, close-knit school community.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Colorado Teaching License, with Special Education Generalist endorsement (Ages 5-21)
- Experience working as a Special Education Teacher, ideally with students who have affective needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, staff, and families
- Must be able to complete a district-specific contractor packet in a timely manner
- Passion for helping students achieve their academic and social-emotional goals
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support for students with affective needs in elementary grades
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's strengths and areas for growth
- Work closely with classroom teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure holistic support
- Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and adjust interventions as needed
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for all students
Position Details:
- Full-time contract, 37.5 hours weekly
- On-site role at one elementary school in Northglenn
- Immediate start through early October
