Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university
- Valid Alabama Teacher’s Certificate
- Certification meeting Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) federal and state requirements, or willingness to meet these within the designated timeframe
- Appropriate licensure for Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) teaching in the State of Alabama
- Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, supporting their individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment
- Develop and implement lesson plans and instructional materials addressing diverse student needs
- Assist with evaluation, progress monitoring, and documentation for each student
- Advocate for accessibility resources and services within the school community
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
