Job Description
Inspire young minds and foster a passion for science as a full-time 8th Grade Science Teacher at a vibrant middle school near Lake Zurich, IL. This contract opportunity spans from August 17 through May 27, 2027, providing an engaging environment to guide students as they explore scientific concepts and build foundational skills that will serve them for years to come. The position is based onsite, offering meaningful, daily interactions with students and colleagues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field required
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with relevant endorsements
- Proven experience in curriculum design, lesson planning, and classroom instruction
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Deep understanding of grade-level science concepts and the ability to engage adolescent learners
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver dynamic, standards-based science lessons to 8th grade students
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture that encourages curiosity and active participation
- Assess student progress regularly, adapting instruction to meet diverse learning needs
- Collaborate closely with grade-level teams and school staff to enhance instructional strategies
- Maintain accurate grading, attendance, and student records
- Communicate effectively with both students and their families regarding academic performance
