Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist in Des Plaines, IL

Step into a rewarding opportunity working with elementary-aged students as a Speech-Language Pathologist for a full-time contract role, providing leave of absence (LOA) coverage from January through June. Qualifications and Experience:

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
• Active state licensure as an SLP or eligibility to obtain
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) status accepted
• Experience in pediatric and school-based settings preferred
• Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Responsibilities:

• Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders in elementary students
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
• Provide direct therapy and consultative services, integrating evidence-based practices
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to promote student progress and generalization of skills
• Maintain accurate and timely records, progress notes, and necessary documentation in compliance with district and state requirements
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expert recommendations for student programming
