Take the next step in your special education career with an impactful position supporting K-7th grade students throughout the 2026-2027 school year. In this contract role, you’ll work on-site, partnering with dedicated educators to serve as a vital resource for students with diverse learning needs. Full-time schedules span August 2026 through June 2027, offering 35-37.5 hours weekly across Monday through Friday.
Currently, three resource teaching roles are available to match your passion and grade-level expertise: one for Kindergarten, one working with 1st and 2nd graders, and a third as 7th grade resource/case manager. Each role is designed to offer focused support, personalized instruction, and advocacy so every learner can reach their fullest potential. In-person presence is a must, as building strong connections with students, families, and faculty is key to success in these resource positions.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification in Special Education (or eligibility to obtain in CT)
- Experience working with elementary or middle school populations, ideally in a resource or case management capacity
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to inclusive practices and differentiated instruction
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Deliver targeted instruction tailored to varying abilities within assigned caseload
- Maintain thorough progress monitoring and documentation
- Serve as a liaison between families, general education teachers, and support staff
- Lead or participate in IEP meetings, ensuring student needs remain the priority
