Job Description

Key Qualifications:
- Must hold a current, active Louisiana Department of Education Certification (DOE Cert). Temporary or in-process credentials are not accepted.
- Experience teaching Science at the high school level is highly preferred.
- Comfortable adapting lessons and engaging diverse groups of students.
- Able to quickly build rapport with students and manage classroom dynamics.
- Must be able to meet time-sensitive credentialing requirements, including successful completion of a drug screening and district fingerprinting.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver interactive and engaging general Science instruction to high school students, in alignment with the school calendar and district standards.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and academic growth.
- Participate actively in lessons, planning, grading, and collaboration with school staff.
- Monitor student progress and provide individualized support as needed.
- Adhere to all school policies and maintain accurate records.
Enjoy a consistent schedule (Monday-Friday, 7 hours daily, plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch), so you’ll have time to plan, prepare, and connect with students. Campus assignments and caseload details will be determined but expect to work within a collaborative district focused on student success.
