Job Description Summary
The Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (MRI) reports to the site supervisor and the radiology manager. \n\n
\nUnder general supervision, the MRI Technologist performs high-quality MRI examinations in accordance with established protocols on patient populations for physician interpretation. Other duties as deemed necessary.\n\n

\nResponsibilities
\n- \n
- Perform MRI examinations in accordance with established protocols while ensuring image quality, patient safety, and efficient workflow. \n
- Complete patient screening, exam documentation, and image verification in RIS and PACS to support timely physician interpretation. \n
- Maintain high standards of image quality, productivity, and patient throughput. \n
- Deliver safe, compassionate, patient-centered care throughout the imaging process. \n
- Adhere to all MRI safety protocols, including zone safety procedures, implant screening, and ferromagnetic safety practices. \n
- Utilize the SHIELD reporting platform to document and escalate events outside of normal clinical encounters. \n
- Follow all departmental policies, modality standards, and organizational compliance requirements. \n
- Perform routine equipment quality control checks and assist with troubleshooting and service ticket submission as needed. \n
- Support onboarding, training, and education of staff and students. \n
- Foster a positive, collaborative work and learning environment. \n
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, safety, and patient, employee, and physician satisfaction. \n
- Attend staff meetings, in-services, lunch-and-learns, and quality improvement meetings. \n
- Maintain a professional demeanor in appearance, communication, and conduct. \n
Additional Job Description
\nRequired Licensure, Certifications, Registrations:
\n
Education: Graduation from an accredited school of imaging.
\n
Experience/Skills: 1+ years, General MRI exams, implants, elastography, and defecography. Rotate to other locations as needed for training/staffing.
\n
Required Registration/Certification:
\n- \n
- Registry eligible by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) in MRI. \n
- Must be able to produce very high-quality special imaging with little supervision. \n
- Must be able to function effectively in a team-oriented environment. \n
- Must be familiar with age-specific criteria. \n
- Must obtain registry within 1 year of hire. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. \n
