Material Control Manager
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities

- Identify, implement and track critical metrics for inventory with reaction points clearly identified \n
- Investigates and solves problems through root cause analysis resulting from cycle counting \n
- Responsible for continuing programs of exploration for new materials, suppliers, and processes to
\n achieve the best possible quality, reliability, prices, continuity and delivery. \n - Keeps abreast of materials and warehousing capacity and constraints \n
- Manage department associates to create a team-based environment, with open/candid
\n communications and direct accountability to ensure the departments operate at a very efficient level. \n - Deliver world-class delivery, inventory performance with a focus on quality, on-time delivery and competitive costs. \n
- As part of the leadership team, develop the annual business plan/tactical plan and ensure all department objectives are achieved as set in the plan. \n
- Interview applicants for the department in accordance to applicable laws. Train new employees in the department. \n
- Oversee and manage annual performance and ongoing performance management within the department. \n
- Recommend and take corrective action in compliance with quality audits, issues, etc. \n
- Support the Critical Success Factors of the business as directed by the manager. \n
- Oversee and monitor the receiving and materials department. \n
- Manage Inventory levels, inventory accuracy, and integrity. \n
- Perform other related duties as assigned \n
- Leading Excess and Obsolete Inventory process/material, using root cause analysis to minimize effect on the company \n
- Manage inventory operations at multiple locations \n
- Oversee Outside Processing routing step for all internal discrete jobs sent out for machine work oplating \n
- Support the division by being the liaison between the company and auditors (Internal or External) \n
- Develop storage plan strategy for make/buy and free issued materials and products \n
- Provide leadership in on-going cost reduction and continuous improvement programs. \n
- Develop, implement and execute logistics sourcing strategies, practices and procedures in alignment with business unit leaders. \n
- Develop and implement negotiation strategies for logistic services; including, but not limited to all types of inbound and outbound transportation, warehousing, crating/packaging, freight bill auditing \n

Minimum Qualifications
\n • BS degree in technical field; or 5 + years related experience and/or training; equivalent
\n combination of education and experience break down supply chain base.
\n • Minimum 4-6 years of experience in a leadership role.
\n • Strong materials management background required.
\n • Must have demonstrated track record of cost reductions.
\n • Must demonstrate good management skills and be capable of evaluating and staffing Materials
\n organization with strong players
\n
Skills, Abilities & Other Requirements
\n • Good negotiation skills.
\n • Experience with ISO 9000 quality system requirements.
\n • Understand how to utilize MRP/ERP systems.
\n • Ability to develop a system to eliminate material line shortages and multiple schedule changes.
\n • Ability to manage inventory levels and increase inventory turns.
\n • Effective use of MS Office Suite.
\n • Six Sigma experience; green or black belt certification a plus.
\n • Knowledge of Oracle MRP systems a plus.
\n • Must be able to work extended hours when required.
\n • Understanding of financial impact of effective inventory management.
\n • Strong analytical skills.
\n • Good oral and written communication skills.
\n • Good organization skills.
\n • Must be responsible and dependable.
\n • Strong interpersonal skills.
\n • Must have demonstrated excellent leadership skills.
