Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist in Charge experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A leading pharmacy in New Jersey is seeking a Remote Pharmacist in Charge with active licenses in both NJ and CA. This part-time role offers approximately 24 hours per week with weekday shifts from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and no on-call responsibilities. The position supports an 8-12 week contract with the possibility of extension into a longer-term engagement.
Location: Remote (licensed to practice in NJ and CA)
Schedule:
- Part-time, ~24 hours per week
- Weekdays, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- No on-call required
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure pharmacy compliance with state and federal laws, Board of Pharmacy standards, and DEA regulations
- Oversee sterile and hazardous drug compounding compliance (sterile experience a plus, but not required)
- Supervise and support a team including 7 Technicians, 4 Pharmacists, Director of Pharmacy, and Pharmacy Coordinator
- Manage staff development, training, and performance evaluations
- Review and approve patient care plans, focusing on medication therapy appropriateness, dosing, and compatibility
- Maintain overall accountability for pharmacy operations and regulatory adherence
Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Pharmacist Licenses in both New Jersey and California (required)
- Previous experience as a Pharmacist in Charge or similar management role (preferred)
- Familiarity with sterile medication verification is an advantage but not mandatory
