Step into a fulfilling role supporting students with visual impairments as a Teachers for the Visually Impaired (TVI) professional with Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) certification. This contract position offers an impactful opportunity to serve K-12 students across multiple campuses in the Tavares, FL area for the 2026–2027 school year. What you bring:

  • Valid Florida Professional TVI License
  • Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) Certification
  • Experience in a school setting is highly preferred
  • Strong background in conducting screenings and assessments for visually impaired students
  • Flexibility to travel between multiple school sites
  • Solid foundation in both direct and consultative service delivery
  • Excellent organization and communication skills

Your responsibilities:

  • Provide both direct and indirect services to a caseload of 15–20 K–12 students
  • Travel between 13 school sites, mostly working with 2–3 schools per day (with the district office as your home base)
  • Conduct periodic screenings and functional vision assessments as needed
  • Offer consultative recommendations to teams and families, including some monthly check-ins
  • Collaborate with the district to tailor weekly schedules for convenience and efficiency
  • Complete all onboarding and procedural requirements as part of district credentialing

This rewarding, full-time assignment (35 hours/week, 8:00am–3:30pm with a half-hour unpaid break) runs from August 3, 2026, through May 28, 2027.
