Key Qualifications:
- Active Massachusetts Severe Disabilities teaching license required
- Prior experience working with elementary-aged students in special education settings
- Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and developmental learning needs
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
- Proven ability to create supportive, engaging, and differentiated learning environments
- Dedication to promoting inclusion and fostering positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families
Primary Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver specially designed instruction to 1st and 2nd grade students in a substantially separate classroom
- Develop, implement, and document IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications
- Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to ensure student success
- Create a structured, nurturing, and safe classroom atmosphere
- Assess student progress, adjust instructional strategies, and communicate growth to families and team members
- Participate in IEP meetings, data collection, and professional development opportunities
