Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active Occupational Therapy license in the state of Texas (required)
- Background working in schools, home health, or healthcare environments as an OT
- Proficient in both fine and gross motor skills development
- Prior experience with school-aged children and familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) is highly valued
- Collaborative spirit and effective communication skills to partner with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Strong organizational abilities and adaptive problem-solving
Responsibilities:
- Assess student needs and develop targeted treatment plans to enhance participation and performance in academic and daily living activities
- Deliver direct therapy services addressing fine and gross motor skills in both individual and small group settings
- Consult with teachers and school staff to integrate therapeutic strategies and accommodations into the classroom environment
- Document progress, track goals, and contribute input for IEP meetings and related reports
- Provide education and guidance to families to encourage skill carryover at home
- Stay current with best practices in pediatric OT and participate in ongoing professional development
