School Social Worker in Davison, MI

Step into a pivotal role supporting K-12 students as a Multi-Tier Systems of Support (MTSS) Social Worker or Counselor for the 2026-2027 academic year. In this contract position, you’ll collaborate with educators, students, and families to ensure every child receives the right interventions and support. This is a full-time assignment—35 hours per week—across the academic year, contributing directly to student success in a dynamic school setting.

Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) or Counseling from an accredited institution
• State of Michigan full licensure to practice as a Social Worker (LMSW) or Counselor (LPC); Limited License holders (LLMSW/LLPC) considered with the expectation to pursue full licensure
• Previous experience in public school settings or related agencies highly preferred
• Familiarity with collaborative team processes and MTSS
• Comfortable providing services onsite
• Ability to handle a diverse K-12 caseload
• Willingness to provide official university transcripts along with LARA license and MDE SW Approval at time of application

Core Responsibilities:

• Assist staff in selecting and evaluating data collection methods, making informed recommendations to enhance student interventions
• Design, implement, and track progress of tiered intervention strategies
• Consult with both general and special education teachers, managing cases requiring multi-faceted support services
• Active participation in MTSS and support team meetings—including parent conferences
• Deliver direct intervention services to students individually and in groups
• Educate staff on evidence-based, data-driven interventions
• Maintain diligent documentation and student encounter logs
• Support families to engage fully in their children’s education, coordinating services as needed
