School Counselor - Round Lake, Illinois

Key Qualifications:

• Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) is required; please prepare to provide verification
• Will consider applicants who hold an active School Counseling or School Social Worker certification
• Ability to build trust and rapport with students across a wide spectrum of ages and backgrounds
• Experience in an educational setting, preferably servicing K-12 students
• Dedication to creating a safe, supportive school culture

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling for students in accordance with school policies and student needs
• Address academic, social, and emotional concerns as they arise
• Assist in developing, implementing, and tracking student support plans
• Collaborate with teachers, school staff, administrators, and families to ensure holistic support for every student
• Maintain accurate records and uphold confidentiality standards in all counseling interactions
• Contribute to a positive school environment by promoting inclusivity and respect

This is a contract position with a consistent full-time schedule: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 3:30 pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
