Step into a vital support role for students as a counselor with this full-time school opportunity in a dynamic educational environment. This contract position runs August 12, 2026 through May 28, 2027, with dependable weekday hours that allow for a healthy work-life balance.
Key Qualifications:
- Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) is required; please prepare to provide verification
- Will consider applicants who hold an active School Counseling or School Social Worker certification
- Ability to build trust and rapport with students across a wide spectrum of ages and backgrounds
- Experience in an educational setting, preferably servicing K-12 students
- Dedication to creating a safe, supportive school culture
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling for students in accordance with school policies and student needs
- Address academic, social, and emotional concerns as they arise
- Assist in developing, implementing, and tracking student support plans
- Collaborate with teachers, school staff, administrators, and families to ensure holistic support for every student
- Maintain accurate records and uphold confidentiality standards in all counseling interactions
- Contribute to a positive school environment by promoting inclusivity and respect
This is a contract position with a consistent full-time schedule: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 3:30 pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
