Step into a vital role supporting high school students’ diverse learning needs in a vibrant educational community. This contract opportunity runs from August 2026 through June 2027, focusing on grades 9–12 and operating on a full-time schedule, Monday through Friday. You’ll play a crucial part in shaping students’ success during the 26/27 school year.
Key Qualifications:
- Certified Special Education Teacher (credentialed/licensed to teach grades 9–12)
- Experience providing specially designed instruction in a secondary school setting
- Skilled in general special education case management and supporting IEP planning, development, and implementation
- Proficiency with academic evaluations, data collection, and progress monitoring
- Strong communication skills for engaging with families, teachers, and multidisciplinary teams
- Preferred: Background in behavior management and transition planning for students preparing for post-secondary opportunities
Role Highlights:
- Full-time hours: 32–37.5 per week; 7:10 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
- Manage a high school caseload through an A/B day model (four 90-minute teaching blocks daily plus a dedicated prep period)
- Lead and oversee Individualized Education Plan (IEP) processes, collaborating closely with students, families, and fellow educators
- Deliver compelling, differentiated instruction to meet each learner’s unique needs
- Conduct academic evaluations and implement data-driven strategies for student growth
- Foster positive behavior and facilitate transitional planning as students move towards graduation and beyond
