This itinerant opening allows you to split your impact between a middle school and two elementary schools, collaborating with multiple teams and enhancing inclusive educational experiences. You’ll enjoy the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with diverse students as you travel between sites, bringing specialized support exactly where it’s needed most.

Qualifications:

  • Current Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) endorsement required
  • Previous experience teaching or providing services to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Strong communication and organization skills to effectively manage an itinerant schedule
  • Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Passion for fostering accessible learning environments and supporting student success

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and educational support to students with hearing loss across multiple schools
  • Collaborate with general education staff, families, and other service providers to ensure a seamless support system
  • Develop, monitor, and adjust IEP goals in alignment with student progress
  • Advocate for accessibility tools and strategies that empower each student
  • Travel between assigned school buildings within the caseload, ensuring consistent assistance
  • Maintain thorough documentation for student progress and compliance
