Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher (DHH) in Clyde, TX

You’ll collaborate alongside teachers, Deaf/Hard of Hearing specialists, and school staff to ensure every student has the resources and support they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate clear and accurate communication between Deaf/Hard of Hearing students and their peers, teachers, and staff.
• Interpret classroom instruction and activities using American Sign Language (ASL) and other appropriate modes.
• Support individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the teaching team.
• Assist with language development and encourage student engagement in both academic and social settings.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions.
• Participate in meetings, training sessions, and professional development as required.

Qualifications:

• Experience as an educational interpreter or in a similar DHH support role preferred.
• Proficiency in ASL and a solid understanding of Deaf culture.
• Knowledge of current best practices for working with PreK and elementary students.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
• Relevant certification or training in interpreting for Deaf/Hard of Hearing populations (preferred but not required).
