Step into a fulfilling contract role supporting students as a dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired near Abilene, TX. In this full-time position, you'll work Monday through Friday, beginning on August 19th, making a meaningful impact on learners who are visually impaired.

You will collaborate with teaching staff and families, adapting classroom materials and leveraging assistive technology to ensure all students have the resources they need to thrive academically and personally.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
- Experience working with students who are visually impaired in school settings
- Strong knowledge of current best practices and instructional strategies for learners with low vision or blindness
- Proficiency with braille, large print, tactile graphics, and assistive technology devices
- Ability to create individualized education plans (IEPs) and track student progress
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with parents, staff, and district personnel
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction to students, adapting lessons based on individual needs
- Assess and document student progress toward IEP goals
- Consult with general education teachers to modify curriculum and classroom materials
- Provide orientation and mobility guidance in cooperation with specialists
