Openings are available for two full-time interpreters, each working 37.5 hours per week during the school year. This contract role offers the unique opportunity to build meaningful connections, working closely alongside a young student to facilitate their access to education and school life.
Desired Qualifications:
- Minimum EIPA score of 3.5, or current RID certification
- Valid and active GaPSC certification required
- Strong knowledge of ASL and educational interpreting best practices
- Experience in an elementary school setting preferred
- Excellent communication, adaptability, and collaborative skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver accurate, effective sign language interpretation in classroom and school activities on a 1:1 basis with an elementary student
- Collaborate with teachers and school staff to support student participation and learning
- Help foster social interaction and independence for the student throughout the school day
- Maintain professionalism and uphold confidentiality and ethical standards in all assignments
- Assist in creating and maintaining a positive, inclusive environment
