Make a meaningful impact by providing specialized instruction and support to students as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing. This contract opportunity allows you to share your expertise in a supportive school environment, serving students with diverse communication needs. Work just two days per week—16 hours total—ensuring a balanced schedule while contributing to student development and achievement. The assignment begins on August 17th, 2026, and continues through June 4th, 2027, aligning with the academic calendar for a rewarding school year.

Key Qualifications:

  • Eligible for, or currently hold, a North Carolina DHH (Deaf/Hard of Hearing) teaching license
  • Experience in educational settings supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Skills in developing and implementing individualized educational plans (IEPs)
  • Flexibility to adapt instructional strategies to meet student needs

Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students, adapting materials to each learner
  • Assess students’ progress and participate in IEP meetings with teachers, staff, and families
  • Provide consultation and resources to classroom teachers to support student inclusion
  • Foster a positive and accessible classroom culture that celebrates linguistic diversity
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to compliance with state and federal guidelines
