This full-time position spans the academic year, from early August through late May, and involves working across multiple school sites, possibly including some virtual assignments. You'll play a critical role in fostering independence and academic success for K-12 learners, collaborating closely with educators and staff to deliver tailored instruction and support.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Arizona Standard Secondary Teaching License
  • K-12 Certificate or Endorsement in Visually Impaired Special Education
  • Possession of an IVP Fingerprint Card
  • Previous experience as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired is highly valued
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload and adapt to multiple locations as needed

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments based on IEPs
  • Adapt curricula and develop specialized teaching materials to address students’ unique needs
  • Offer guidance and resources to classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and families
  • Assess student progress and adjust intervention strategies accordingly
  • Travel between assigned schools to provide consistent, high-quality support
  • Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with district policies
