Job Description
Step into a rewarding role supporting young learners as a Campus Nurse for PreK–2nd grade students. This full-time, onsite position begins August 17, 2026, and concludes June 18, 2027. You’ll work weekdays from 8 AM to 4 PM, dedicating 40 hours each week to ensure students’ well-being during the school year.
Ideal candidates bring previous school-based nursing experience and a genuine passion for caring for children. Licensed RNs and LPNs from Massachusetts will be considered, provided they hold an active license. Strong communication skills, dependable attendance, and adaptability to a lively educational environment are a must, as is reliable transportation. Please note: This position follows a set daily schedule, and accommodations for alternate hours cannot be made.
Key qualifications:
- Active Massachusetts LPN or RN license required
- Background in school nursing or similar pediatric settings
- Reliable transportation to commute onsite
- Completion of fingerprinting and CORI background checks
- Ability to work consistently from 8 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Friday
- Comfortable providing health services and support to PreK–2nd grade students
- Proficiency in responding effectively in both routine and emergency situations
Primary responsibilities:
- Deliver direct nursing care and health education to early elementary students
- Monitor and respond to students’ health needs throughout the school day
- Maintain accurate health records and collaborate with staff and families
- Promote a healthy, safe, and inclusive environment
- Implement care plans for students with chronic health conditions
- Participate in school health initiatives and screenings
