Step into a vital role supporting the health and well-being of students across elementary and middle school settings for the upcoming academic year! Located near Edison, NJ, this contract assignment offers full-time hours and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young learners from September 4th to June 25th. With a weekday schedule of 8:15AM to 3:15PM (35 hours per week), you’ll be a cornerstone of support for the school community.
Your background in school nursing will be essential as you oversee the healthcare needs of entire school buildings and provide compassionate service to a diverse caseload. This position is designed for a proactive Registered Nurse with a passion for student care and experience navigating the unique needs of a school setting.
What You’ll Bring:
- Active School Nursing NJ RN license (required)
- Previous, direct experience in a school-based nursing role
- Confidence in overseeing the health needs of elementary and middle school students
- Ability to manage and prioritize caseloads effectively
- Comfort working within district procedures and policies
- Willingness to travel locally with reliable transportation
- Compliance with onboarding requirements: TB test, physical examination, and fingerprint clearance (agency and district)
- Please note: LPN candidates cannot be considered for this role
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer ongoing health services to students and staff
- Manage health records and maintain confidentiality
- Conduct wellness checks and address urgent health situations
