What You'll Bring:

• Current certification or licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter (such as EIPA, RID, or state-issued credentials)
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with strong receptive and expressive skills
• Previous experience providing interpreting services in educational settings preferred
• Ability to effectively interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and school activities
• Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families
• Sensitivity, patience, and dedication to supporting students' individual needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret spoken language into ASL and vice versa for a 5th-grade student during classroom lessons, activities, and school events
• Facilitate clear and accurate communication between the student, teachers, and peers
• Support student access to academic content, school functions, and social interactions
• Adhere to professional and ethical standards of interpreting in educational settings
• Maintain confidentiality and advocate for the communication needs of the student
• Participate in meetings or team planning sessions as needed
