What You'll Bring:

• Valid state certification or credential as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
• Expertise in educational strategies, tools, and assistive technology for students with visual impairments
• Skill in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Experience collaborating with educators, families, and related service providers
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Flexibility and responsiveness to student needs in various educational settings

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored instruction and academic support to students with visual impairments
• Assess students’ needs and monitor progress, adjusting approaches as required
• Develop and maintain IEPs in consultation with IEP teams
• Coach and support classroom teachers in adapting materials and instructional methods
• Teach students essential skills such as orientation, mobility, Braille, and use of specialized technology
• Communicate regularly with families regarding goals, achievements, and strategies for growth
• Participate in school meetings and professional development as needed
