Location: Alamogordo, New Mexico
Type: Travel Contract
Assignment Length: 13 weeks or longer, shorter contracts considered
Schedule:
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Wednesday, Friday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Closed weekends (primary location), with occasional weekend shifts at a secondary retail location
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active New Mexico Pharmacist License or the ability to obtain prior to start
- Minimum one year retail pharmacy experience preferred
- APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Ability to cover shifts at the secondary retail location, including occasional weekends
- Strong patient counseling and medication dispensing skills
- Comfortable supervising pharmacy technicians and managing daily pharmacy operations
- Flexible with adapting to multiple retail locations
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately prepare, review, and dispense medication orders in compliance with protocol
- Maintain up-to-date patient medication profiles and ensure quality control
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and oversee pharmacy workflow
- Participate in medical emergency response alongside pharmacy team members
- Conduct medication storage inspections, removing expired products
- Train new staff members and uphold infection control guidelines
