Job Description
Make a positive impact in the lives of students as a full-time School Counselor or School Certified Social Worker for the 2026-2027 academic year. Based near Arlington Heights, this contract opportunity involves working with K-12 students in a supportive educational setting. The position runs from August 12, 2026, through May 28, 2027, with daily hours of 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
Your role will focus on the social, emotional, and educational well-being of students, helping them navigate academic and personal challenges. As a trusted professional in the school, your expertise will be crucial in providing guidance, support, and advocacy for both students and families.
Qualifications:
- Hold an active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)—please provide a screenshot of your current license.
- Certification as a School Counselor or School Social Worker accepted.
- Experience working with K-12 students is highly desired.
- Demonstrated ability to manage diverse caseloads and partner with educators and families.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver counseling services to a K-12 student population; exact caseload to be determined.
- Address students’ academic, social, and emotional needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other support staff to develop student plans.
- Maintain thorough and confidential records for all student interactions.
- Facilitate group counseling sessions and classroom presentations as needed.
- Support positive school culture and promote mental health awareness.
