Job Description
This long-term care contract opportunity offers a part-time pharmacist role, providing approximately 24 hours per week in a supportive environment dedicated to skilled nursing facilities, personal care facilities, and hospice care.
Schedule:
- 24 hours per week
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify medication orders entered by data entry technicians for multiple care settings.
- Perform thorough checks on blister-packed, sterile, and non-sterile medications.
- Respond to phone inquiries from nursing facilities, hospice nurses, and physicians, addressing clinical questions with professionalism.
- Accurately count controlled substances and document them in the perpetual inventory.
- Inspect and maintain emergency medication boxes.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy.
- Active pharmacist license in Pennsylvania, in good standing.
- Minimum of one year pharmacist experience, preferably in long-term care.
- Ability to perform physical activities including sitting, standing, fine motor tasks, visual inspection, and lifting up to 30 pounds.
Operating Systems Familiarity:
- QS1, Docutrack, PCC.
