We are seeking a dedicated and experienced physician to join our Internal Medicine Residency Program as a Core Faculty Member or Associate Program Director, depending on level of experience. This role involves approximately 8 inpatient hospital medicine shifts per month and a significant role in the development and implementation of the point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) curriculum, resident assessment, and quality assurance initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:Clinical Duties:\n- \n
- Provide high-quality inpatient care during 8 hospital medicine shifts per month. \n
- Supervise and mentor residents and medical students during inpatient rotations. \n
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care. \n
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to implement evidence-based practices. \n
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives. \n

- Develop and lead the point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) curriculum for residents. \n
- Conduct regular training sessions and workshops on POCUS for residents. \n
- Conduct POCUS training for medical students during IM clerkship \n
- Assist pre-clinical faculty in teaching ultrasound to medical students during pre-clinical coursework \n
- Assess residents' proficiency in POCUS and provide constructive feedback. \n
- Conduct clinical teaching during patient care activities and didactic sessions. \n
- Participate in the evaluation and assessment of residents' and students clinical performance. \n
- Provide mentorship and guidance to residents and students in their professional development. \n
- Serve on program committees including Clinical Competency Committee, Program Evaluation Committee \n
- Participate in didactic activities including morning report, grand rounds, and academic half day. \n

- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school. \n
- Board certification in Internal Medicine. \n
- Eligible for Arizona State License \n
- Preferred minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in hospital medicine. \n
- Proficiency in point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) and experience in curriculum development. \n
- Strong commitment to resident education and mentorship. \n
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. \n
- Experience in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives is preferred. \n
