Make a difference in the lives of young learners as an Occupational Therapist working with early childhood students. This contract opportunity offers part-time flexibility for the 2026-2027 school year, with .4 or .6 FTE options (2 or 3 days per week). The position is located within the early childhood setting of a collaborative preschool consortium, emphasizing growth and engagement for students in North Chicago.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
  • Illinois licensure or eligibility to practice as a school Occupational Therapist
  • Experience working with early childhood populations and/or students with special needs is a strong asset
  • Excellent communication skills, both with children and multidisciplinary team members
  • Reliable transportation—travel within the preschool consortium is required
  • Strong organizational and documentation abilities

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver occupational therapy services for early childhood students, supporting their growth, classroom participation, and independence
  • Assess student needs and develop individualized therapy plans in collaboration with educators and families
  • Provide both direct and consultative OT services within classroom settings and small groups
  • Document progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings as needed
  • Share expertise and strategies with other team members to facilitate inclusive learning environments
  • Travel as necessary to multiple schools within the preschool consortium
