Job Title: Attendance Officer - Okehampton College

Company Overview: The Supply Register are a managed service working alongside 5 multi academy trusts within Devon & Cornwall including Dartmoor Academy Trust, WAVE Academy Trust, Reach South West and Plymouth CAST Trust

We are seeking an Attendance Officer to join the team at Okehampton College and make a positive impact on the lives of our students.

\n

Position Overview: As an Attendance Officer you will monitor attendance records, identify patterns of absence and work collaboratively with students, family and staff to improve attendance.

\n

Key Responsibilities:

    \n
  • Monitor and maintain accurate student attendance records
  • \n
  • Identify and investigate patterns of persistent absence and lateness
  • \n
  • Contact parents/carers regarding unexplained absences and attendance concerns
  • \n
  • Develop and impelement improvement plans with students and families
  • \n
  • Work closely with school leaders, teachers, pastoral staff and external agencies to support attendance
  • \n
  • Ensure compliance with school policies and relevant attendance legislation
  • \n
  • Escalate serious attendance concerns in line with safeguarding and statutory procedures where required.
  • \n

Qualifications and Skills:

    \n
  • Previous experience working with children or young adults with special educational needs is desirable.
  • \n
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • \n
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the diverse needs of students with SEN.
  • \n
  • Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, or a related field are advantageous but not essential.
  • \n
  • Willingness to undergo relevant training and continuous professional development.
  • \n
  • GCSES in Maths and English A-C
  • \n
