Join our team at a brand-new Thames River facing nursery and play a pivotal role in shaping its culture and practices. We are seeking a Preschool Room Leader & Third in Charge who is passionate about early childhood education and capable of leading our Preschool Room while supporting the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager in the overall operation of the nursery.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Lead the Preschool Room, ensuring high standards of care, education, safeguarding, and compliance.
\n
• In the absence of the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager, assume full responsibility for the nursery's operation.
\n
• Support opening and closing procedures, adhering to all health, safety, and security protocols.
\n
• Provide guidance and coaching to practitioners, improving teaching practices and care quality.
\n
• Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of activities based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) for children aged 3–5 years.
\n
• Ensure accurate observations and assessments of children's development, informing planning and continuous provision.
\n
• Implement and deliver a high-quality early years curriculum, focusing on literacy, mathematics, and understanding the world.
\n
• Act as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, supporting safeguarding procedures and investigations.
\n

Required Skills & Qualifications:

\n
• Relevant Early Years qualification (Level 3 or higher).
\n
• Early Years Degree, QTS, or EYTS strongly preferred.
\n
• Proven experience as a Room Leader with demonstrable leadership and supervisory skills.
\n
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS and safeguarding legislation.
\n
• Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
\n
• Ability to confidently manage the nursery in the absence of senior management.
\n
