Transactional Construction Associate - 2+ PQE
QED Legal
Edinburgh, SCT, GB
Full Time
Job Description
Some construction roles lean heavily towards property development.\n
\n
\n Others are almost entirely focused on energy and infrastructure.\n
\n
\n This one gives you a genuine mix of both.\n
\n
\n QED Legal is working with a leading Scottish firm that is looking to add an experienced Solicitor or Associate to its non-contentious construction team. The role can be based in either Edinburgh or Glasgow, with the work itself spanning major projects across the UK.\n
\n
\n You will advise on the construction elements of significant development and regeneration schemes, including development agreements, building contracts, professional appointments, bonds and guarantees.\n
\n
\n Alongside that, there is a strong engineering and energy focus. The team is involved in projects across onshore wind, hydro, battery storage, solar and emerging renewable technologies, making this a particularly interesting opportunity for someone who wants their practice to sit at the intersection of construction, property and the energy transition.\n
\n
\n The client base includes developers, contractors, public bodies, funders and professional consultants, so you will see projects from a range of commercial perspectives rather than working exclusively for one side of the market.\n
\n
\n This would suit a construction solicitor with at least four years’ relevant experience who is comfortable handling complex transactional work, managing key project documents and working closely with colleagues across real estate, projects, planning, finance and corporate.\n
\n
\n There is strong national work on offer, access to recognised specialists and the opportunity to build a broader construction practice without having to leave the Scottish market.\n
\n
\n For a confidential discussion, contact Neil at QED Legal.
