A well-established and highly regarded legal practice with over 40 years of history is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Private Client Solicitor.

This role offers a genuine opportunity to progress into aHead of Department position and to play a key role in the leadership and strategic development of a growing department. The ideal candidate will be motivated, commercially aware, and passionate about mentoring and innovation within private client work.

What you’ll be doing:

    \n
  • Meeting with existing and potential clients to provide expert advice on all areas of Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Trust matters, Tax advice and Probate
  • \n
  • Liaising with clients and third parties in a professional and compassionate manner
  • \n
  • Processing files from start to finish in an effective and timely manner and in line with the company’s policies on file management
  • \n
  • Opening files and conducting necessary Client Due Diligence and risk management
  • \n
  • Ensuring clients are updated and advised at appropriate points in their matter
  • \n
  • Providing support to other fee earners when needed and covering when other fee earners in the department are away
  • \n
  • Preparing correspondence and documents using in-house software
  • \n
  • Managing client ledgers and complying with the Solicitors’ Accounts Rules
  • \n
  • Responsibility for the maintenance of our manual filing systems
  • \n
  • Closing files following the relevant processes
  • \n
  • Undertaking any specific training when required to do so and overall to have responsibility toward self-improvement
  • \n
  • Ensuring confidentiality of all the firm’s and clients’ documentation and information at all times
  • \n
  • Managing personal billing target
  • \n

Requirements\n

What we’re looking for:

  • Qualified Solicitor with 5–7 years’ PQE in Private Client work
  • \n
  • Proven experience handling a broad private client caseload independently
  • \n
  • Demonstrable leadership potential and enthusiasm for developing a department
  • \n
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • \n
  • Highly organised, methodical, adaptable, and detail-oriented
  • \n
  • Strong time-management and prioritisation skills
  • \n
  • High levels of accuracy and efficiency
  • \n
  • Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office; experience with case management systems is an advantage
  • \n
  • Sound knowledge of GDPR and Solicitors’ Accounts Rules relevant to private client work
  • \n
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work
  • \n
