We are currently seeking a relief concrete plant supervisor to be based at our home county's area this will include travel to our other five sites in the area.This role is commutable from;Milton keynesBicesterOxfordNorthamptonBedfordLutonBiggleswadeLeighton BuzzardAylesburyBanburyTowcesterWellingborough

Key Responsibilities\n

You will be responsible for the production of ready-mix concrete & screeds in the area at multiple readymix concrete plants using a computerised batching system along with supervising the day-to-day safe and efficient running of the plant. You’ll enjoy travelling and learning the different systems at our sites; you’ll provide help and support when we’re busy and work with our Production Managers and Concrete Plant Supervisors to keep our sites running smoothly to meet the needs of our local customers.

As a Relief Plant Supervisor you’ll travel between a number of our readymix concrete sites. You’ll support with a range of tasks from batching concrete, to jumping on the Loading Shovel, to working with our Maintenance Engineers!

If successful, you’ll join a regional team, managed by the Production Manager. Plus, if you want to progress, then the opportunities are there – at Breedon we put our people first. We have great progression opportunities; many of our local managers have been promoted from within the Company.

You’ll be working 48 hours a week Monday to Friday and occasional Saturday mornings, however we do ask for some flexibility to meet business demand. You’ll be provided with a Company Van and fuel card (which you can use for home to work travel) to enable you to effectively carry out your role.Whilst on site you would be expect to be able to:

  • Carry out daily checks of all safety critical equipment in line with company standards
  • \n
  • Operate loading shovels to re-stock storage bins and stockpile aggregate deliveries
  • \n
  • Ensure focused, proactive communication of any potential near miss / hazards within the work area to the Company's Health & Safety Department and Line Management
  • \n
  • Ensure production is in line with customer specification and required technical standards
  • \n
  • Manage all constituent material stocks and reorder as required from the various suppliers
  • \n
  • Daily checks carried out and recorded as required by the environmental permits
  • \n
  • Manage and control truck mixer/tipper/cement tanker drivers operating within the plant
  • \n
  • Supervision of driver fleet on site
  • \n
  • Supervise and manage external contractors in line with company standards.
  • \n
  • Maintain high standards of site housekeeping and some daily preventative maintenance activities
  • \n
  • To provide support to the production manager and district manager where possible
  • \n
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise\n

The successful candidate will have a flexible, proactive and versatile approach to work. You will have an energetic “hands on” approach and the ability to anticipate problems and consider a solution and the ability to negotiate and work collaboratively with colleagues on both a formal and informal level. This position is ideal for a highly motivated person with experience of plant operations.
