\nAbout the Role
\nMy client are looking for an experienced and proactive Credit Controller to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a well-established business, taking ownership of the credit control function while working closely with colleagues across finance and the wider organisation.
\nYou'll play a key role in ensuring timely collection of customer payments, maintaining strong customer relationships, and supporting the smooth running of the accounts department.

Key Responsibilities
\n- \n
- Manage the collection of outstanding customer payments across the businesses accounts. \n
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers while ensuring overdue accounts are followed up professionally. \n
- Post and allocate customer payments and reconcile customer accounts. \n
- Monitor customer credit limits and payment terms, carrying out credit checks for new accounts where required. \n
- Set up new customer accounts and maintain accurate customer records. \n
- Prepare and issue customer statements, reminder letters and copy invoices. \n
- Work closely with internal departments to resolve account queries and release customer orders. \n
- Reconcile bank accounts, including foreign currency transactions. \n
- Support month-end processes, reporting and account reconciliations. \n
- Assist with VAT and HMRC-related reconciliations. \n
- Provide cover for purchase ledger during periods of absence. \n
- Support the wider finance team with ad hoc accounting and administrative duties. \n
We're looking for someone who is:
\n- \n
- Experienced in credit control, - minimum of 3 years' experience. \n
- Confident communicating with customers by telephone and email. \n
- Well organised with excellent attention to detail. \n
- Comfortable working with UK and international customers, including foreign currency transactions. \n
- Able to prioritise workload and meet deadlines. \n
- A strong team player who enjoys working collaboratively. \n
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with experience using accounting or ERP systems. \n
